Yoghurt and I like each other but we haven't been "from scratch" friends. We have had mild happy meetings but never sharp thick creamy ones until -- today.
Having done the unhomogenised milk route, the organic milk route, the shared yoghurt route, the crock pot, the blanket and the any-way-you-can-think-of-it route, I decided to have a last ditch attempt at yoghurt. After all, I can cook most things, why can't I get yoghurt right?
Well, I can.
As with most recipes if you use the right ingredients, give them the right time and don't rush, you get results. ...

Yes I agree, from scratch yoghurt can be a bit hit and miss at times. So good that you've found what works best for you. I'm off to make some myself!
ReplyDeleteWell tell us your secret Rose lol :):)
ReplyDeleteI find that different cultures give different results, but most brands don't actually tell you the strain of the culture, so its hard to find out which one you like and to get it again.... and if you don't like it you have about a hundred batched to use up before you get the next one!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Rose!!!! Congratulations to you :) Yogurt is my planned topic for tomorrow lol Great minds think alike :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had success! Looks nice, thick and creamy to me :)
